| And Peter said to them, "Repent, and let each of you
be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your
sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Acts
2:38.
So, on this day of pentecost, Peter exhorted them to REPENT for the purpose of receiving remission from the penalty of sin and the gift of the Holy Spirit.. He exhorted them saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation." To repent was to change ones mind, specifically regarding Jesus Christ, and to accept and acknowledge Him as Lord. Now, those who believed his word, grieved and repented this day: 1. Were baptized, receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit, which was promised. The gift of the Spirit is a gift to all who believe and not a reward to some. 2. They continued devoting themselves to the Apostles teachings. 3. They continued to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and prayer. 4. They kept feeling a sense of awe. 5. Many signs and wonders were taking place through the Apostles. 6. All those who believed were together. 7. All those together had all things in common. 8. They began sharing all they had with each other, as anyone might have need. 9. They continued day by day, with one mind in the temple. 10. They continued to fellowship from house to house, breaking bread and taking their meals together with gladness and SINCERITY OF HEART. 11. They continued PRAISING GOD. They continued having favor with all the people. God Is Calling His Church To Order History Pentecost Provision Church Home About This Site
